Fiji TCF’s Expanding Presence |
AusAid has sponsored a 3+ year program to support the entire Fiji TCF industry. With a commitment to improving every element of business management from production, to personnel to quality control and even sales and marketing, this program was instituted to see that Fiji’s TCF industry remained relevant, viable and completely competitive into the next decade and well beyond.
United Apparels active participation was a rewarding experience both in terms of new unmatched production efficiencies in our lines but also in terms of elevating our staff’s opinion of creating a lasting, and even more Positive work environment. The TCF industry in Fiji employs approximately 5000 workers and United Apparel and we are committed to doing everything in our power to hold our position as a national employment leader, an industry trend setter, a world competitive player in the fine menswear market and a company that works cohesively and harmoniously with our entire staff. We wish to thank AusAid for their generosity with their program and for their expertise with their consultants.

A New United Apparel Website |
We are proud to unveil our new look website with among other things, a fresh appearance, an updated showroom and a news and media centre. It’s a chance for us to reach both our buyers and suppliers and to keep them informed about all things United. The Fiji Textile, Clothing and Footware Council is also in the process of updating their web presence and we felt our site would stand out well with interested overseas parties. |

Retailing In Fiji |
United Apparel’s ‘on premises’ retail store which displays and promotes our fine menswear has noticed a definite trend through the years. Fiji is indeed becoming a place comfortable with more and more classic business apparel. As the sales in our menswear retail outlet will confirm, and tropical atmosphere notwithstanding, gentlemen in Fiji do on increasing occasions, look to dress smart and make a professional impression. We couldn’t be happier to see more and more of our suits donning the shoulders of the local gentry. We will continue to expand our local line and to offer fantastic opportunities for men in Fiji to look the part of a Wall Street power broker, Fiji style! |

Positioning for the Future |
The world is in the worst economic crisis in the last 70+ years and we are not taking this lightly. In direct response to this, United Apparel has aggressively sought to expand our client base, improve production efficiencies and to ‘think out of the box’ in every single aspect of operations. And how are we doing? We feel so far we are on track to diversify and open up more new clients than ever before. Our quality assurance has tested out higher than in any other point in our company’s history. Our human resource programs have been significantly enhanced to further understand the needs of our workers and our production efficiency shows marked improvement. None of us know what lies ahead over the next few sure to challenge years… but we do know that we have taken great steps to make ourselves as stable and as competitive as possible. We feel they reflect in our input and in our output and that we will continue to be well positioned to maintain our place as a leader in national productivity as well as national, civic, company and personal pride.
